grapes2Worship Ideas

  • Jeremiah 31:27-34 mentions that the hardships of one generation effect the generation that follows — and this is compared to parents eating sour grapes and the children’s teeth being set on edge.  Consider using grapes in your worship display.  If you want people to experience the Word in a different way, make it possible for people to taste some sour grapes during worship.
  • In the Jeremiah reading, the Lord says that the law will be written within us – written on our hearts.  Cut out heart shapes and write favorite verses of scripture on them during worship.
  • The lesson from 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5 speaks of learning and teaching.  Use this as the inspiration for a blessing of the teachers/students during worship.

Liturgy Suggestions

Call to Worship (inspired by Psalm 121)

Where do we find the source of our help?

Our help comes from the Creator of the Universe!

Who is the source of our strength and security?

The Lord our God keeps us safe and guides us in all things!

Prayer of Confession (inspired by 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5)

God of All, you teach us all that is perfect and good. But, we confess that we sometimes wander from your truth and stray from your teachings.  By the power of your Holy Spirit, draw us closer to you.  Instruct us by your Word and train us in righteousness, that we might be your faithful people.
