4th Sunday after Pentecost [Ordinary 12B] – Words for Worship (Year B)

Call to Worship (inspired by Psalm 9:9-20)

Sing out your glad praises to the Lord on High!

Tell all who will hear of the amazing things God has done!

Adonai saves us from utter despair.  The Lord delivers us from persecution and death.

Let us praise the name of our Redeemer, together!

Prayer of Confession (inspired by 2 Corinthians 6:1-13)

Almighty God, we know that there are no restrictions on your grace, and there are no boundaries to your love.  Yet, we confess that we are guilty of trying to place restrictions on your gifts of love and grace.  Too often, we build roadblocks in our neighbor’s paths, instead of building up our relationships with one another.  Merciful God, forgive us.  Teach us to open our hearts, so that we may love as you love.  Guide us in the ways of your grace, that we may offer it freely to all others – just as you have freely given it to us even now.  We pray these things in the name of Christ, our Lord.
